Almost all my clients at some stage has asked me “How many times a week do you workout?” and my answer is always the same.
I try to exercise 4-5 times a week, sometimes I do more and sometimes I do less. People set such high expectations when it comes to exercise. I always say aim to do the best you can. If you aim to do 5 sessions a week then that’s amazing. However some weeks you won’t be able to get 5 sessions in.
There are so many factors that can stop you from working out, women in particular! It’s awesome to aim for a certain amount of sessions. But if you can’t make them, then don’t beat yourself up!
In saying that the best way to reach your goal for exercise throughout the week is you need to enjoy exercise! No one is going to force themselves to go to the gym or workout at home if they don’t enjoy it. It may work for a couple of weeks, but the motivation will wear off pretty quickly.
This is why I run a female only Bootcamp. My sessions aren’t just about working off that bad food you had over the weekend. It’s about creating an environment where women come together to encourage and support each other.
I have so many clients who go on holiday and come back saying how much they missed exercise, these are the clients that see results, because they are committed to their training.
Over the last few years exercise has started to lose the stigma that its a ‘chore’. Exercising with a social aspect is what keeps my girls committed to training.
